Driving Ghana’s Green Future: Water-Lily Foundation at the UNIDO Circular Economy Trainer-of-Trainers Workshop

The Water-Lily Foundation (WLF) has taken another major step in advancing sustainable development in Ghana. Over the past two days, WLF was ably represented by Abdul Samed Rafiat, the Foundation’s Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation Manager, at the prestigious UNIDO Circular Economy Trainer-of-Trainers Workshop held at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.

This intensive two-day training, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology (MEST) and funded by Global Affairs Canada, brought together experts, practitioners, and organizations driving circular economy transformation across Ghana.

The workshop provided participants with in-depth knowledge and strategies for advancing the circular economy, a sustainable model that emphasizes resource efficiency, waste reduction, and value creation through recycling and innovation.

For Water-Lily Foundation, this engagement reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability and directly strengthens the implementation of its CleanCycle Project an initiative promoting waste-to-value solutions and climate-resilient livelihoods in Northern Ghana.

By integrating circular economy principles into community development programs, WLF aims to empower youth, promote green innovation, and contribute to building a more inclusive and environmentally responsible economy.

The Foundation extends its profound appreciation to UNIDO, MEST, and Global Affairs Canada for this transformative opportunity and looks forward to translating these insights into tangible impact within communities across Ghana.

Together, we’re building a circular, greener, and more resilient Ghana.
