As part of its unwavering commitment to climate action and youth empowerment, the Water-Lily Foundation made a significant impact at the 2024 Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) – Ghana. The Foundation’s Executive Director served as the Northern Regional Consultant, bringing crucial grassroots perspectives from northern Ghana into national climate discussions. Her contributions helped shape the policy-focused agenda of the conference and spotlighted regional priorities in the fight against climate change.
In a strong show of representation, two staff members of the Foundation – Gafaru Aminu and Abdul-Rahim Abdulai – were selected and fully sponsored to attend the main event, held at the R.S. Amegashie Hall, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Legon. Their participation reinforced the Foundation’s active engagement in youth-led climate advocacy and provided an opportunity for professional development, knowledge sharing, and collaborative networking with peers and policy actors.
The 2024 LCOY Ghana event served as a prelude to the global Conference of Youth and COP summits, providing young leaders across the country with a platform to discuss sustainable solutions and influence environmental policymaking. Water-Lily Foundation’s visible presence and contribution to this conference reflects its long-term vision of building resilient communities through inclusive climate solutions driven by young people.
